Failure configuring Windows Updates

Failure configuring Windows Updates

Postby gambaleb » 17.05.2019, 02:49

Hello,

I am attempting to install Windows 7 WSUS Updates Version 11.6.1 on an air-gapped system. I am receiving the following error on reboot.

"Failure configuring Windows Updates, Reverting Changes, Do not turn off computer.

Any help would be appreciated. :D

Thanks,
Brian

Please post the contents of C:\Windows\wsusofflineupdate.log (in [ code ] tags) so we can start to analyze which update may be causing this. Also please check Control Panel > Windows Update > View Update history to see if there are shown any failed updates.

Thanks for the feedback...

I will follow up with the logs and also check the Windows update history.

Have a great weekend!

Hi Dalai,

Not sure what you meant by posting the content (in [ code ] tags). What I did was post part of the log where I came across errors with the installation of some patches.

I also noticed in add/remove programs some updates that failed.

Long parts of logs, command outputs and similar should be placed in CODE blocks in a forum, to improve readability. In forums such as this one, this is done via [ code ] (without the spaces before/after the brackets) or by clicking on the Code button when writing a post. Example using your log lines below:
Code: Select all

Are you trying to use WSUS Offline in Windows safe mode? Is Windows Update service running? Can you post the full C:\Windows\wsusofflineupdate.log please? Did you remove Remote Desktop services from your system? Most/all updates mentioned in the log have something to do with RDP and/or RemoteApp or similar.
