Sep16 - no missing updates

Postby Peter99 » 23.09.2016, 08:18

Hello,

as usual I downloaded the Sept updates (with the new 10.7.4 version) but every PC/server that I try to update responds with the message "No missing update".
I also note that the "Listing ids of missing updates" is extremely fast (a second or two) while it usually takes longer to display.
Code: Select all
8:54:23,59 - Listing ids of missing updates (please be patient, this will take a while)...
 8:54:24,25 - Done.
Listing ids of installed updates...
Listing update files...
Checking Microsoft Security Essentials installation state...

No missing update found. Nothing to do!

When checking the "wsusoffline\client" subdirectories, I see that there are September updates in the "w61-x64\glb" and "w63-x64\glb" but they are not applied by running "UpdateInstaller.exe".
What am I doing wrong here?

Cheers,
Peter99

Sounds like a corrupt update database wsusscn2.cab.
Please start the update generator for an additional download run + monitor possible error message in cmd window and download log.

Also please enable verification when downloading. This prevents wsusou from downloading corrupt files.

After enabling the "Verify downloaded updates" check box on the UpdateGenerator and making an additional download run, patch installation worked fine again.
Thanks to both of you for the decisive tips.
