trouble with the update portion

trouble with the update portion

Postby djsjps » 20.06.2016, 06:46

Running windows 7 pro 64-bit.
When running the update the program hangs with no progress bar or percentage.
These are the last four lines where it's hanging:
installing update 1 of 9 {stage size:400}
verifying integrity of ... \w61-x64\glb\windows6.1-kb2533623-x64.msu
hashdeep64.exe: audit passed
installing .. \w61-x64\glb\windows6.1-kb2533623-x64.msu

I let the computer run here for 1 hour and 1/2 then I shut it off.
Thank you for WSUS and this site. Hope you can help me.

Open the task manager and take a look at the CPU activity.
If it is 0, close the cmd-window and reboot the computer. Then manually instal the update and reboot again. wsusou should now work as expected.

Thank you Aker for responding.
Thank you for WSUS and this site.

To the best of my knowledge the problem is solved.
Reason: I had to reinstall windows 7 pro 64-bit which has Internet Explorer 8 in it.
As soon as I got Internet Explorer 11 installed all problems went away.
However, do to my lack of understand WSUS, Your program installed about 50
updates. Then Windows updates had another 150 for me to install. It was my
understanding that wsus installed all updates. Obviously I am wrong.

Just 50 updates installed looks like the new staged update feature to prevent memory overflow caused by some MS update processes.
Have you actually rebooted and restarted WOU to continue update installation (as instructed by output in command window)?
