Are All Windows XP Updates Still Available in 2016?

Postby MyLifeIsTech » 01.03.2016, 15:00

I have not yet used WSUS OU 9.2.1 to download all the updates for Windows XP yet, and I read in the thread linked below that Microsoft has started to remove Windows XP updates from their servers. Is this true? And if it is, are these updates still available elsewhere and if so, how would I go about telling WSUS to download them?

Here is the thread to which I was referring to:

MS removed a few updates from their servers.
You have to download using wsusou and copy the missing files to .\client\wxp\<lang>\ to make wsusou find them.
I did not check it, but I've heard, that they are still downloadable from http://catalog.update.microsoft.com/ (IE only).

Just FYI for anyone looking for the XP stuff - today I was able to use the link provided by aker above and search for XP, then download the SP3 update. The .exe file ran perfectly and applied the update to my XP virtual machine (I already had original installation media and an SP2 iso disk).

This could definitely help other users. Though I already have an XP ISO from the original disc with SP3 integrated. I just needed the post-SP3 updates.
