MS already tried to "fix" it a several times, but the next patchday the problem appeared again.
Currently it helps to install the updates listed here to decrease the time dramatically [multiple hours -> less than 20 minutes (in a test VM)].

Have a nice new year
Thank you for the prompt reply. Eventually all worked just fine. I'll learn to just run everything at night as I set up machines. Happy New Year to you as well.

Hello. My name is Luca and I am new in the forum.
First of all... Happy New Year to all the users.

I have the same problem trying to update my notebook with W7 SP1.
I read on the link to make the following updates:
- KB3078601
- KB3087039
- KB3102810
- KB3104002
- KB3109094

How can I run these updates?

Thank you.

Maybe it will posible to split update proces into two steps
1) Step one (instal KB3078601, KB3087039, KB3102810, KB3104002, KB3109094 and reboot)
2) Steep two (remaining updates and reboot).
Mayby it is not the most elegant solution but it will sovle the problem for a while (till MS will mess thing up again).

How do I cancel this thing, it's made an administrative account, Ive been stuck on this listing ids part for a day. When i restart my computer it goes right back to the same crap. if i close the command window and log off and then on with my usual account, things are missing from my desktop, the theme looks different, and things don't work right "because it's waiting for your program to be done and to reset the conditions to where they were"... You didn't include a way to cancel? what am I to do now, besides another factory reset? Wait another day? lmao. 6GB of ram dual core, 1 core at 100%. how do i get my desktop back, have the admin account that it made go away?

Close the cmd-window, log off from WOUTempAdmin (cancel all processes, if needed), log into your normal account, run .\client\cmd\CleanupRecall.cmd with administrative rights.

I tried the suggestions of installing the individual updates and then running WSUS but it still hangs on listing the ids of missing updates. Some said they were already installed, others that they didn't apply to my OS (W7 SP1). The only one that did install was the first one, Windows Update Agent 7.6, so I'm still stuck. Worked great when I ran it last month. Not so much this time around. Thanks for any help.

Hi!

This is probably caused by the changed prerequisites' list (see http://trac.wsusoffline.net/changeset/786).
Will be in v. 10.7, coming soon.

I have been struggling with this for days, but I have now found a solution.

This tools has worked for me on many systems but all have been reasonable spec machines, this section however always takes quite a long time.

I have been working on a Dell D800 machine which has 2GB RAM and a slow Pentium-M processor. At the 'Listing IDs' step it stopped and hung for more than 2 days - I never did have the patience to let it complete. Then I found a partial article elsewhere which suggests that the problem with this and also with 'online updates' is a problem with a CPU and memory intensive bug which is eating all the CPU and trying to use 8GB RAM, which is just going to cause paging and slow the machine to a crawl.

There are two fixes which should be applied by hand, these are to be found at:

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/downloa ... x?id=47352

See knowledge base article KB3050265

and

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/downloa ... x?id=49542

See knowledge base article KB3102810

Simply download the two updates (make sure to get the 32 bit or 64 bit versions as appropriate) and double click each in turn to install it. You will need to reboot twice to accomplish this.

On my d800 machine I then re-ran the Updateinstaller and the 'Listing IDs' step completed in about 2 minutes and it began installing missing updates right away.

I don't know if this will work for everyone, but the impact was so enormous on my systems, it has to be worth a try if you have this problem.

Give it a try and post back here if it works for you.
