Just add-ons updated, not windows

Hello to all,

I'm just did a fresh Windows 7 x64 sp1 installation on a laptop, I copied the folder Client from USB drive into the C directory, run UpdateInstaller as admin, but the window showed let me just to choose between IE, NET framework, Silverlight etc, no Windows updates at all.
I run it as it showed, supposed it will detect the OS and install the Windows updates automatically but I was wrong.

So, how should be possible to have all the updates offline and install them? I miss something?

Hello Zacarna,

Could you provide your installation log (C:\Windows\wsusofflineupdate.log)? Post it with [code] tag here.

About the UpdateInstaller's user interface: It only shows the optional installations. The OS is detected and updated automatically by the UpdateInstaller, provided that the medium you're using for installation contains the files for the detected OS.

sure, I set the software to download all the updates for Windows 7, 8.1 and 10, both x64 and x86 versions, not just the add-ons mentioned and office (not yet installed)

Did you reboot and restarted UpdateInstaller.exe? Please try this.

On a fresh Windows 7 installation WSUS Offline Update needs a reboot after some updates or install packages in order to continue with the installation of further updates. If you haven't checked the automatic restart option, you need to do it manually (as mentioned above).

There should be something wrong, anyway
Start with a windows update 1 of 5, a 2,1Mb update file and after 20 minutes is stuck there....

The update is the first it try to install, now I don't know which KB it is, I just aborted and have a try with the Win update's OS one...
