Update Frequency

My question is how often does the program look for the latest updates to download. The reason I ask is I was comparing the updates it downloaded for one of my Windows 8.1 machines compared to a machine that was updated using the regular Windows Updates and it seems that maybe some of the most recent updates from my not have been included when using Windows Offline Updater. Does WOU pull them from a Microsoft Site or a database that the developer compiles on a regular basis.

By the way I am new to this piece of software but after using it I wish I new about it sooner, so props to the developer. Hopefully that makes sense. If not let me know and I will expand. Thanks for the help in advance.

For the general way, wsusou works, please take a look at viewtopic.php?f=7&t=172
This topic describes, how wsusou determines the download links. And yes, all updates are pulled from MS and sigcheckd (if verification is enabled).
So, if you start the download, wsusou will update your repo to the most recent version MS provides.

I guess my only other question would be does Windows Update query the same repo that WSUS Offline Update does in order to check for the latest updates? Thanks for the reply and the link

No. WSUSOU uses wsusscn2.cab, the same catalog file that's used by the original WSUS and the MBSA tool. That catalog contains only security-critical patches, but not all of the important and optional ones. Windows Update uses another source for determining updates, which is NOT publicly exposed, unfortunately.
