Determination of OS Properties ERROR

Hello,

I have a Windows 7 remote system that when running the WSUS script, kicks back an error, "Determination of OS properties failed"...

I've read through some of these forums and found similar threads, but the solutions presented were for different operating systems. I can't say for certain that this isn't due to user error, but I can assure you I've downloaded the x86 updates for a 32-bit system...

The system does have IA controls set. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

What happens, if you manually run .\client\cmd\DetermineSystemsProperties.vbs?
After running, is there a file SetSystemEnvVars.cmd in your temporary folder (%temp%)?

Hello,

Thanks for the time.

When I run .\client\cmd\DetermineSystemsProperties.vbs, the output is: The system cannot find the path specified.

Nothing new exists in the %temp% folder.

Please check, if the following files exist in C:\Windows\System32:
- msi.dll
- mstsc.exe
- wuaueng.dll
- vbscript.dll

I do have Windows Update disabled as part of the IA controls. Please let me know if that needs to be enabled for WSUS to get beyond this error. Not sure where the script is looking for the "OS properties".

The Windows Update service (wuauserv) has to be enabled, but WU itself not.

Please update your version of wsusou to the 10.2 and replace the content of .\client\cmd\DetermineSystemProperties.vbs with this code (create a backup before):
