Using WSUS Offline on a "intel compute stick" win 8.1 x86,

Postby arne » 29.09.2015, 15:11

Bought one of these,
http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/compute-stick/intel-compute-stick.html

Have any one run the WSUS Offline on one of those to patch to date? (Win 8.1 32bits and eager to skip all those do not want updates quick and easy)
And if so how did it go?

I will leave the question up for 24h before I become the guinea pig my self ;)
But if now somebody already tried it before with no go please let me know.
Or if anyone advices against trying.

If it is a normal Windows 8.1 x86 (w63), wsusou should work on it as on every other computer. I don't have one myself, but I could think, that the system (including wsusou) will be slower than on a desktop computer.

Thanks for your answer!
Well nothing much exacting did happen.
After bringing down the updates and started for patch the only thing selectable was C++ and net 4.6.

Looking at properties it says Windows 8.1 with Bing

I just use the ExcludeList manually.

If anyone do have go on this "toy", check for bios and such, many coming out fast :)
So far works nicely for the price IMO, see if updates do it better or worse :)
Also, to stream video you have to disable auto apps updates in main screen otherwise you get small freezes, took a while to figure that one out.
