wsus update installation

The missing updates: KB2754670 is an security update for a Works converter, is there an old copy of Office installed on that machine?; KB954430 is an update for MSXML, which should not happen on an up2date system (I assume, it is Windows 7 as you talked about SP1).

The downloading problems of mpam-fe*.exe is caused by MS' unsynced servers and a aborted connection. It's difficult to fix as it's nearly impossible to find the reason for the aborted connection. Two quetions may help: Is you internet speed high or low (subjective & download speed in kbps)? Is your internet connection on high load?

Hi Akers

Sorry for the delay

1 I m installing the wuss updates after doing the FACTORY RESET of my system.
I have deleted the trail version of MS OFFICE 2003 ,which came pre installed and now I have installed MS OFFICE 2010,for
which I have not used wuss,so I feel my system is upto date ( FACTORY RESET).
Please tell me what I can do now to have those two missing updates in.

2 As for the MSSE mpam-fe64. exe ,your reasoning may be correct , as I have very low internet speed and frequently
Interrupting one. How do I do then.
Please guide.
Regards.

1) After you uninstalled o2k3 these two missing updates should not be listed anymore.

2) It is difficult, as the servers are not in sync. Downloading it manually would not help. You may try it using your browser, which should not work better/worse than wget as the servers still aren't in sync and the connection will reset, if aborted...

There is no real solution as long as MS' servers aren't in sync...

.\doc\faq-enu.txt wrote:55 Q: Can I download/install additional patches?
56 A: Yes, you can adjust how the download and update scripts behave by excluding or adding patches from download or installation. For adding updates proceed as follows:
57
58 1. Adding updates to download routines
59
60 For adding an update to be downloaded, insert its download URL into the matching "StaticDownloadLinks-<platform>[-architecture>]-<language>.txt file, found in the "...\static\custom" directory. Please don't forget a trailing <CR><LF>.
61
62 2. Adding updates to installation routines
63
64 Add an update to installation by inserting its knowledge base ID (KBxxxxxx or simply xxxxxx) into the matching "StaticUpdateIds-<platform>[-<architecture>].txt file (directory "...\client\static\custom"). Please don't forget a trailing <CR><LF>.

To switch to aria2, just run .\cmd\ActivateAria2Download.cmd. To switch back to wget, delete the file .\cmd\custom\SetAria2EnvVars.cmd.
