Can't install to MAPPED drive

Can't install to MAPPED drive

Postby Charger440 » 28.05.2015, 06:39

The updater tells me I can't install to a UNC path and that I have to map the drive.

Problem is; If I map the folder containing the folder I still get the network mapping error. If I map to the actual folder where the program runs from I still get the error.

It appears as though the updater will not run from a network path, mapped or otherwise even though the message box clearly states it will.

Is there something to this I am missing? I can run the installer on my local HD then copy all that stuff to the NAS where it should be anyway but I would like to be able to save the files to the location they would wind up anyway. That would just make things easier.

Did you map the network drive using admin rights?
Else the network drive won't be available for programs running with administrative rights (such as the Installer part of wsusou).

Thanks for the response!

I took your advice and ran explorer as Admin and mapped the folder on my NAS in that instance. I then "ran the updater" as admin and it failed so I just ran updater normally from that admin explorer and it worked like a charm.

Thank you for the suggestion and it worked great :)
