I have received the "Your list of trusted root certificates is outdated" error and have Googled this, and looked in this forum, but no answer. I also Googled "how to update trusted root certificates", but found no answer there.

Two computers, Both WinXP, one Pro, one Home ed.
All updates on the systems are current so far. I just wanted to download everything so I could update Windows XP if I ever had to reinstall.

Has Microsoft done something so that even WSUS won't work *before* April 8?

Microsoft as published Update for Root Certificates for Windows XP [March 2014] (KB931125) (Version 41,0,2195,0) last Tuesday as an optional Update!

Thanks to all who've answered.

I downloaded and applied the latest root update. However, it still gave the error about updating root certs. Then I noticed that it was opening a 4NT window, and it occurred to me that perhaps the script doesn't like 4NT as the command processor. So I changed the environment %ComSpec% back to cmd.exe, reloaded the program and it quit giving me the certs error. But it still didn't work. The last line the script printed was "ERROR: Download failure for win glb." Searching for that on this forum produced one page with a listing of MS update pages. Those pages appeared to be concerning Win7 and Office, but nothing to do w/WinXP.

Please delete .\client\wsus\wsusscn2.cab and .\client\md\hashes-wsus.txt and try it again.
Also please run the following command in a command prompt and post the output:

So I deleted the 1st file, but hashes-wsus.txt wasn't there. Then the program ran and downloaded a lot of files. Here is the output of the dir cmd. I made columns so it wouldn't be so long. I didn't see any warnings in the download.log file, so I'm assuming it downloaded everything correctly. Thanks again.
