UpdateInstaller.ini

UpdateInstaller.ini

Postby Lenge » 12.09.2013, 02:27

While the "UpdateGenerator.ini" file is automatically changed according to the latest selections that you made in the download GUI, the corresponding "UpdateInstaller.ini" file is not: The file remains unchanged regardless of which options you specify in the updater GUI. However, if you manually edit "UpdateInstaller.ini" and then run the updater, it will set the GUI options according to the file settings.

I suspect that "UpdateInstaller.ini" is supposed to be automatically updated from the GUI settings (just like "UpdateGenerator.ini" is), so that the current behavior is a bug. True?

Pls. keep in mind that "UpdateInstaller.ini" may be located on a read only medium (CD/DVD).

Hi Lenge!

No, the UpdateInstaller.ini always was providing default values that are fixed and that are not changed by the GUI. So if you want to change the default settings, you need to edit the file itself.

So the current behavior is fully intended (and thereby not a bug). Ok, thanks for the advice. :)

Please note the latest version will retain the settings you selected for the current session. That session may include one or multiple automatic restarts and reruns.

The basic usage for that .ini is on a DVD/BD ISO. There it is read-only and thus the Installer won't update it.
