I tried the link you sent but when I try to install the update, I still get the message that it "does not apply to my system". Any thoughts/ideas?

Thanks

You just injected the file into wsusou's repo?

Please add the download link to .\static\custom\StaticDownloadLinks-w60-x86-glb.txt. The rerun the download. The issue should be gone then.

Please excuse my ignorance but I'm more of a home PC user and not a very knowledgeable IT person. What I did was to double-click the kb3185911 msu file that was in my windows download folder. This started the Windows Update Standalone Installer and that's when I got the "does not apply to my system" message.

I'm not really sure how to do what you're recommending in "Please add the download link to .\static\custom\StaticDownloadLinks-w60-x86-glb.txt". Could you help me with a bit more info on how to do this?

Thanks

It looks like something is amiss with all downloading of Vista updates...
Maybe Microsoft changed something?

@gfs
If you get a "does not apply" message, you cannot install that update on that machine. Just skip it.
Adding it as custom update wouldn't help in any way.
Please delete all files in .\client\md then rerun the download.

Could you retry the installation part?

Thanks for everyone's patience. I can't find the location .\client\md. I'm sure this is due to my rather limited Windows knowledge. Can you possibly give me the complete path to this location so that I can delete the files?

By retrying the installation part, I'm presuming you mean retrying InstallPrereqMsu.cmd. Whenever I try to run this program from a Command Prompt screen, I get an error message that it is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. I'm familiar with running .exe programs but not cmd programs. I really don't have any experience with what a CMD Shell is. Any help on how I can do this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

. is your path to wsusou. Inside the folder there is a folder named "client", that one contains a folder named "md". Delete its content.

InstallPrereqMsu.cmd is not part of wsusou. I meant restarting UpdateGenerator an rerunning the download.

Thanks for clarifying the path to the folder.

Your comment about retrying the installation got me thinking about trying Windows Update again (I had changed the setting to never check for updates). In about 45 minutes, Windows Update identified 13 Important Updates that I needed to download and install. The updates downloaded and installed successfully. I certainly feel a bit more comfortable that I have the latest security updates on my computer but I have a feeling I'll have a similar problem when the October update package is available.

I can't express enough my appreciation for everyone's help and support.

Thanks

Hi, I'm stalled too on the listing of missing updates. I have windows7 x64.
Is it the same as for Vista? My updates are set on "chech but let the user decide". To be honest, yesterday I downloaded wsus offline update because windows told me there were several updates, but didn't install them. Could it be the same issue?
Thanks all,
Storm

Please set Windows Update to "Never search for updates" and reboot before using wsusou. It'll increase the speed a lot.
