One thing I have never understood about WSUS Offline is how to ensure I have a completely "refreshed" update layout - even if I have not updated in a long while.
Case in point - I want to rebuild my Win 7 machine but have not run a WSUS Offline "update" in a year easily. The WSUS Offline directory structure is still present on my machine - but what exactly should I do to get current?
Do I blow away this old install and grab the latest install and start over? And if so - what do I do after next months patch Tuesday to ensure my USB directory contains the very latest and greatest updates - while dumping any stuff that may have been superseded etc.?
Do I simply just keep running UpdateGenerator.exe via my current version? Will that auto clean the old, add the new and leave the required?
Appreciate any comments.
Cheers!
Sonic.
