Postby Haridy » 10.12.2014, 12:18

Hello, I've failed updating a windows server 2003 using wsusoffline with the following error

Error: Unsupported Operating System Language

More details:

- window language is English united states and updates language is English
- I've tried with wsus9.2 and wsus9.5
- I've tested updates on a virtual machine running the same operating system W2K3 with the same language and it was working properly

Please run .\client\cmd\DetermineSystemsProperties.vbs and post the content of %temp%\SetSystemEnvVars.cmd in [code]-tags.

Haridy,

I had a similar symptom once, and reregistering scrrun.dll using regsvr32 fixed it for me. Note that certain DoD STIG security-hardening steps include unregistering scrrun.dll, which I believe will break wsusoffline. Take a look at:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/949140

And in particular the lines referencing scrrun.dll. Please reply to this thread if this helps, or provide the information aker requested if not.

hi,

i had the same problem with win xp mce after transfering it to a virtual machine and a necessary repair install.
i solved it by reeinstalling sp3 manually (although sp3 was integrated in install disk).

then i received 1642 and 1605 errors installing .net updates. after running the repair tool everything was fine

EDIT:
no, i still had problems updating .net 4
all updates were installed but they showed up again and again.
i cleaned up .net 4 with this cleaning tool:
https://onedrive.live.com/?cid=27e6a35d ... 492AF7!390
then i installed .net 4 again:

then updates were installed successfuly and now everything's good!
