MSSE installation fails

Hi,

when I run the update with /msseinstall I always get the following error

Code: Select all
Checking Microsoft Security Essentials installation state...
Installing Microsoft Security Essentials...
Verifying integrity of ..\msse\x64-glb\mseinstall-x64-deu.exe...
hashdeep64.exe: Audit failed
ERROR: File hash does not match stored value (file: ..\msse\x64-glb\mseinstall-x64-deu.exe).
ERROR: Installation of ..\msse\x64-glb\mseinstall-x64-deu.exe failed (errorlevel: ).

The same happens with the 32bit version. I already deleted all files in client/md und run the downloader again, but the error remains.

In case it matters, I'm downloading the updates on a Linux system with version 7.3.1.

Thanks

It looks like it matters. I run the updater from a windows PC and now everything works. There must be something wrong in DownloadUpdates.sh.

Can this thread be moved to the Linux sub-forum?

Hi!

Sorry, I can't reproduce this.

When I downloaded MSSE files for x86, my "hashes-msse.txt" file contains
Code: Select all
10288512,4cc124d12e39d0620931bbba53362c49,ad028a17f6f9f5fe38ea7cb6d0c2756b7b72d2e3,f614900ea72429f065d0701469fa000b077d844eaa217ee3c9d67f95e60d0cb7,..\msse\x86-glb\mseinstall-x86-enu.exe

, which equals the checksums calculated under Windows.
