Hello forum,
I have been using WSUSOffline for some time now, and it's absolutely brilliant. However, recently, I've found that my WSUSOffline folders are missing a number of updates.
I have the following instances set up for various OSes and versions of Office, each in its own folder:
wsusoffline921 - XP, Server 2003 (both x86, x64) and Office 2003
wsusoffline1092 - Vista (x86, x64) and Office 2007
wsusoffline1181 - 7, 8.1, 10, Server 2008, 2008 R2, 2012, 2012 R2, 2016, 2019 (all x86, x64 where available), Office 2010, 2013, 2016
I have the following options enabled where available:
"Verify downloaded updates"
"Include C++ Runtime Libraries and .NET Frameworks"
"Include Microsoft Security Essentials"
"Include Service Packs"
"Include Windows Defender definitions"
I recently rebuilt the Vista and W7+ instances but found on using them that once WSUSOffline was finished, Windows Update had over 30 updates available.
Also, on Vista, I found that running WSUSOffline on a clean Vista Ultimate SP2 installation, it would never complete "Listing IDs of Missing Updates" (I waited over 36 hours once...). If I install the updates listed here, WSUSOffline then takes about 10 to 20 minutes to list IDs and then it installs them absolutely fine - although since I rebuilt the Vista instance, it complains about a number of missing updates before installing the ones it does have.
What I'd like to know is:
1) What information do you need from me to troubleshoot the missing updates and get them downloaded so WSUSOffline can use them?
2) With regards to Vista, I know that WSUSOffline needs to list updates to know what to install, but given those updates on the website linked seem to be needed to get other updates installed, is there any way to have WSUSOffline install those first and THEN search for updates?
Many thanks!
