Are you referring to this post?
http://www.mediasmartserver.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=14784#p107054Maybe it could help to discuss the whole situation here, to prevent issues similar to "Chinese whispers" (called "Stille Post" in German).
Did you retry with a fresh setup to check, if something was messed up at the windows installation?
It reports error 1603 meaning "Fatal error", but all updates seem to install fine after a reboot and another attempt.
As far as I can see, Windows Search 4.0 was installed sucessfully (KB940157, KB963093 and KB969949).
But it seems like, that the WHS wasn't detected.
Please check, if the program prints "Checking Windows Home Server version..." in the command window during the installation.
If not, please open the registry editor and export the key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows Home Server\" and all subkeys and post it here.
As I only checked with original MS discs, this may be caused by some HP special stuff, which changes the registry keys I use to identify WHS (but as far as I can remember I did it similar to the Windows routine)...
Maybe I need to check the disc used in that case...
But that may take some time for me to get it done, as the pandemic forces me to work more than before.
