Hi wilenty,

the new IE updates are part of current wsusscn2.cab catalog (2014-05-01), so WSUS Offline Update should take care about them, even for Windows XP (IE7 and IE8). Exception: The downloads for IE6 for Windows XP are not included, for whatever reason. If needed, you can include them in the static definitions.

Greetings
Gerby

Since XP is EOS, does that mean all XP specific components IE 6/7/8 are also EOS. I know Vista can come with IE7 as default and can be upgraded to 9.

With this in mind, why does MS still provide NEW updates for superseded products. Why would anyone use the older versions of IE or even WMP for their particular version of windows?

MS are great at making people move forward, look at Windows 8 RT for an example, Has to buy ARM supported software, thus making you move forward

Server 2003 uses IE6 as well. As the fix for the problem was an updated mshtml.dll it was obviously easy to test and include for XP.
