Space in USB stick path causes copy error

In WSUS Offline Update 6.9 - Generator, I have observed errors when the path specified for the USB stick "Copy updates for selected products into directory:" contains a space.
When attempting to copy updates to a path containing spaces, a "Copy Error" is reported.
This problem can be avoided by specifying a path string that does not contain spaces.

Hi!
Sorry, I can't reproduce this.
When specifying "C:\Temp\a b" as target path, I finally get a success info popup window, "C:\Temp\a b" contains what I expect and in my "download.log" file I find:
- Code: Select all
09.08.2011 19:09:35,25 - Info: Starting copying for w61 glb "C:\Temp\a b"
09.08.2011 19:10:02,38 - Info: Copied client tree for w61
09.08.2011 19:10:02,40 - Info: Ending copying for w61

Could be either the different file system (USB flash drives usually use FAT32, not NTFS) or the way the device is mounted into the system (removable drive without a mountpoint, for example).
If you don't absolutely need the blanks in the paths, avoid them.

Maybe. To format an USB flash drive with NTFS there is a tool from HP named "HPUSBFW.exe". It is contained in a self-extracting archive named "sp42741.exe", availible from HP. Could post the downlod-link here but don“t know if this is be allowed

There is constant maintenance of a NTFS drive's essentials ($MFT etc.). I wouldn't format external media with NTFS. exFAT has support for UTC timestamps AFAIK.
