DISM Error 0x80092004

I've done a fresh install of windows 7 sp1 x64, (due to possible corruption of previous install) and I have installed drivers and want to update using WOU.
I have done this serval times using wou ver 11.8.1 and it is not a problem.

last weekend I let it do its thing and it was calculating missing updates for 9.5 hours. I thought I that windows didn't install correctly so I reinstalled and started again.
this time I watched WOU do its thing and I seen that DISM throws up error 0x80092004 when installing KB4516065 (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/hel ... -kb4516065)

it tries to install 3 updates, fails on the 1st and continues. I feel that without this update installed this is why its taking 9 hours.

anyone seen this before?

I checked the kbs in my client folder and I see the kbs are there but the file names are different.

windows6.1-kb4490628-x64_6d7e7f728029598fc4b9b4ddd86c8bf1d43289a2
windows6.1-kb4474419-v3-x64_748febffa79a7ae4286b16ff3c373baf344095e6
windows6.1-kb4516655-x64_205c1da22cfb6601ef62ab99f3638fe5e16bf2b1

not sure if this is related but I am updating this from a build of win 7 sp1 from 2015

anyway, ive installed the updates you said to download and its doing its thing at the moment. we will see tomorrow if it works.

The file names contain the SHA1-hashes of the file(s).
As I linked the MSU and wsusou downloads the CAB-version of the updates, the names differ a little...

Aker, I didn't know the file names contained the SHA1-hashes. to be honest the sha-1 stuff have gone about my head.

anyway back to the task at hand. after installing those 3 updates WOU was able to install 180 base updates. I say base because I didn't select of the other features like DOTNET, silverlight, MSSE etc. I have now installed the rest of those updates and they all work. thanks so much.

Telemetry - I know Windows likes to call home but I want to avoid that on Windows 7, is there a maintained list of telemetry updates for win7?

on a side note. I have noticed that DOTNET 4.8 does not work with WOU. when it tries to run it brings up an error which says "unspecified error" when extracting files. i thought I install manually and i'm having the same problem. is there a post about this already or should i create a new one?

Please create a new topic for the dotNET problem with a screenshot and the log‘s content.
It sounds like some file corruption, but let‘s check it in a new topic.

Should be fixed in the most recent trunk (r1083).
