Hi

I previously used wsus-offline-update many times for Win2K / SP4, now I have following config:

Windows XP SP3
P3/550 MHz
128 MB RAM
All Visual Themese off to make it comfortable with low RAM

Our computers use LAN, but remain seperate from Internet as per organization policy.

New installation successfully updated on Dec 24, 2010 (just after the installation of WinXP SP3)

Then successfully ran updater (without any update) on Jan 4, 2011

But now problems occurred for following updates on Mar 16, 2011

windowsxp-kb2479943-x86-enu
windowsxp-kb2483614-x86-enu

Problems are that for all files it says (e.g.):

An error occured while copying file csrsvr.dll
Cannot copy file to destination directory
Click Retry to retry the operation click Cancel to

(yes last line is incomplete)

Retry doesn't help. Cancelling operation asks if to continue with skipping this file,

Continueing doesn't help as it says the same thing for next file, cancellation makes another un-installation log file.

Log file (e.g. KB2476687.log) says (apart for many other things):
31.735: DoInstllation: UpdSpCommitFileQueue for FileQueue failed: 0x4c7

Un-inst log file (e.g. KB2476687Uninst.log) says:

1.503: CopyError: 3758096947 C:\WINDOWS\$NtUninstallKB2476687$\csrsrv.dll
1.563: DoUninstall: UpdSpCommitFileQueue failed: 0x3e3
1.563: WinMain:DoUninstall failed

It seems that all of the incomplete un-installations remains as such, which might give problems some-time in future!? None yet occurred though (except once just after the first reboot)

Any help?

Is there enough available space on the HDD?

yes, more than 2 GB (all of the updates are less than an MB each)

Any more help?

Does it only happen on one machine or on other machines as well ?
Did you check the HDD for errors ?
Does your user account have admin rights ?

I assume you tried to install the updates via the update installer - please post the content of wsusofflineupdate.log residing in your c:\Windows directory.

Yes, later I discovered that this PC is the only one with problem.
