Installing KB3188732 is looping forever on Win8.1?

I want to install all security updates (only) on a 64bit Win 8.1 system.

Everything worked fine so far until it gets to the installation of KB3188732.

WSUS telles me "Installation successful. Please reboot"

See attached snapshot.

After reboot I restarted UpdateInstaller ......and KB3188732 is installed again with the prompt "Please reboot...."

Why is this update never fisnished and commited?

Similarly the same happens on another computer when updating Win 7 64bit with KB3204805

So there must be a bug in WSUS

Could you post the content of C:\Windows\wsusofflineupdate.log here?

WOU only tells Windows Update to install patches. Later, it queries the install state of the patches. If Windows Update then tells lies (or has rolled back the update on reboot), WOU cannot do anything about it as WU says it's not installed.

Try to install that update manually and reboot. Does it show an error? Does it after reboot still count as missing?
