Can't install updates

Hi,

Since reformatting my PC (Windows 7 SP1 Home Premium), I have not been able to install any windows updates.

Windows Update is always at 0 KB/s when I am trying to update. All of microsoft standalone installers stay at "Searching for updates on this computer." I tried using WSUS Offline but it stops when it is installing a Microsoft update package.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to proceed? I have searched for fixes online but they do not work.

Sounds like some error in Windows Update.
Could you post the last 20-25 lines of C:\Windows\WindowsUpdate.log in [code]-tags here?

There are some bugs using the windows update system. To fix this, first try to install some updates from microsoft support server before using wsus offline.
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3138612
Not necessarily required: https://www.microsoft.com/de-de/download/details.aspx?id=20858
Without these update it will take 12 to 24 hours before the update installation starts.
Good luck.

Greetings Ren

@Ren
wsusou already installs a superseding update, which fully replaces the one you posted.

Hello aker,

yes, you are right, but this update has to be installed first to fix the win 7 update system. If installed, wsus offline and of curse the automatic win 7 online update starts immediately, the update process runs hours faster ;) It's not necessary to disable the automatic Win 7 online updates.
please try and see :o

greatings Ren :)
