Hello!

I read that the WSUS only download the Windows updates but not actually installs them.
So how do I do that?
I can find no information about it in the FAQ or in the forum threads here.

The program downloaded more than 100 Windows updates but only a few can be seen when I check "latest installed updates" in Windows Update!

For installation use .\client\UpdateInstaller.exe

Thank you but there are no installation choises to chose in Updateinstaller.exe.
Nothing is enabled or marked or to chose from, it's unreachable to mark to run.
It sais package 408182 in size so there are files there to intall but.....no choise to install them!?

What did you select exactly for downloading in the UpdateGenerator.exe? Did you create media or use the .\client\UpdateInstaller.exe directly?

And, did you try to simply press Start in the Installer? As the choices are for optional extras only.

What I did was that in the Generator chose :

x64 for Windows 7
C++ Runtime
Service packs
Veryfiy downloaded updates

No Office (haven't got it),
no USB,
no ISO. - then START

cmd started and I got a successful ending but nothing in Windows Update.

Obviously I have missed out a step or two, but what?

EDIT : Yes, I tried pressing START in the installer. Nothing flashed, I was told I had not chosen any of the options (options that I can not chose as they are not highligthed).

Yep, UpdateGenerator only downloads the patches, to its own repository, not to Windows Update. Neither does it install anything, that's what the UpdateInstaller is for.

Did you run the Installer from the very same client subdirectory you did run the UpdateGenerator for? Running Installer from a fresh WSUSOU package doesn't do anything as the repository is empty.

Yes I did run the Installer from the same subdirectory as I find the Updategenerator.

I downloaded the 15.07.16 V10.7 version link.
Opened the zip with WinRAR
Double clicked on wsusoffline file map
Double clicked on UpdateGenerator.exe
The file extracted and run the downloading process in CMD.
Successful. So far so good!

Read somewhere in the thread that you need to have the files installed separately with Updateinstaller.exe in client,
which is located in the same wsusoffline file map as UpdateGenerator.exe, and so I did.

So right after UpdateGenerator was done I -
Double clicked on client (in the same submap as Updategenerator.exe was)
Double clicked on UpdateInstaller.exe.
There was nothing there to chose from but I clicked Start anyway, but nothing happend as mentioned in last post here.

Are there other ways to do this so please explain to me as I was a dummy because I can not see either on Youtube or other threads being explain in how to do, that I do anything wrong really. Then, why's not working?

EDIT : So, now I think I've managed to get the program installing. What I needed to do was to enbable the Silverlight option in the Updateinstaller. Then it started the cmd and the installing of the rest of the KB updates!
In none of the videos on Youtube have they ever shown that you need to do this, or that you even need to use the Updateinstaller option, they just use the Updategenerator and then say it's all done. Obviously it's not.
But, however, now the cmd installation is stuck on KB3172605 and has been for an hour. Don't know how to get out of it besides from rebooting the computer.

Cancel and reboot is a good solution, if it still hangs, please post again.
