I have an older Lenovo G550 Laptop with Win7 fresh install on a new HDD and the install goes fine but I cant ever update anything by the looks of it.

Sorry for the long delay in replying.

The problem was the Intel Matrix Storage driver that was stopping updates, uninstalled and al worked fine.

Stoopid PC lol.

Lol, after reading your post I realized it was the same thing for me too. Uninstalled IMS driver and it worked.
