checking for updates finishes in seconds, no updates install

Postby cm214 » 15.07.2016, 11:05

So, I've been playing with WSusoffline for a couple of days now after getting tired of newly installed PCs taking 80 minutes to get a list of updates to install via the MS WSUS server, my first day of trialling WSUSoffline went well until now. When I run DoUpdate, I see that it takes 9 seconds between the wuauserv starting to obtaining the list of updates and it's reporting 'No missing update found' - log output below.

15/07/2016 10:57:12.39 - Info: Ending WSUS Offline Update

This is on a newly installed PC, Windows 7 64 bit with SP1 already slipstreamed into the image. Installed via a MS WDS server. When I looked at the list of installed updates nothing has been installed today when I ran WSUSoffline yet it reports no missing update found, yesterday the same PC installed in the same was installed 59 updates. It looks like the call to Windows Update to provide alist of missing updates is either failing or returning with no result.

Any ideas what's going on?

Thanks

Chris

Most likely caused by the problem reported here: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=5733
We're not able to fix it as it's caused by MS.
Please check C:\Windows\WindowsUpdate.log for a line starting with:

and check, if the next few lines contain a signing error.
