I'm having one of the same issues as a post by troubleshooter. you asked if dism.exe was running. if not reboot and run installer again. I've tried several times. mine is not running. any suggestions?

In your case check for wusa.exe running, as MSU is not handled by DISM.

ty, I got it up and running. I went to ms and was able to download the file that was hanging. After doing this for the first 3 files your program took off. ty ty. I will definately be donating. This all started cause i was doing a fresh install from my vista to windows 7. I just figured my system was choking on 7, even though it meets the requirements. I'm wondering if I would be able to get 7 on this using the same procedure.
