Hi, I have I have installed WSUS offline installer 10.1. I have read countless guide (most out of date) on how to use this very helpful software.

My purpose in using WSUS offline updater is for the following. In Australia we have caps on how much we can download per month. So with some 7 Windows 10 computers all running Office 2013 it means that it saves me a great deal of bandwith.

More inportantly is that with the introduction of Windows 10 and updates not being able to be paused when Patch Tuesday comes around the internet is not usable by anyone in my house and family as our download speed isn't brillant.

So to my QUESTION: I have run the UpdateInstaller.exe in the client folder and ticked the following "verify installation packages" Automatic reboot and recall", and Show log file.

Do I have to run the program multiple times?

After running WSUS a few times I then ran Windows 10 update which has "Office updates ticked" it still has a long list of updates.

Does Windows not know the updates have been manually installed and re downloads and tries to reinstall them?

Any advice would be appreciated. If I can get this to work it would save me a lot of time and bandwith on updates and Clean installs of Windows 10 and Office 2013.

Windows 10 should get updated by wsusou (except for some optional patches; viewtopic.php?f=7&t=172).
There are a few problems with Office 2013, which causes it not to get fully updated on some installations (viewtopic.php?f=7&t=3724) caused by MS' Click2Run-technology.
Please post the content of C:\Windows\wsusofflineupdate.log in [code]-tags and a screenshot of missing Windows Updates.

I appreciate the help. Basically all the updates shown in the screenshots dated 20 Sept were those that installed after using WSUS offline.

As for the log file you asked for it was deleted. I move the wsus offline folder once updated to a network share on a nas. I then copied it to the computer I wanted to update and then deleted afterwards to save space. So the below log file below is for an update after office 2013 updated on Windows 10 computer after the fact. It might show something is wrong.

What is weird I can run wsus offline multiple times and it says everytime that it installes three files:

Thanks again for the help. WSUS is just what I need to update all my families computers without using internet bandwidth and chocking our connection patch day.

If I didn't miss anything, just the Defender definitions and Office 2013 got installed by Windows Update.

I don't run click to run but the installation was from a DVD and uses a VL key and NOT retail does that make a difference.

After installling Office 2013 from the DVD I activated online and then ran WSUS offline. Then after a reboot etc. I used Windows 10 update check to see if any patches were missed etc But to my surprise 28 updates were downloaded. The log only showed me three updates done by WSUS offline too.

Please manually rerun wsusou (with auto-reboot disabled) after it "finished" and check, if it finds a missing update.
