Update extrem langsam

Hallo,

Gerby

On a Core Duo (3 GHz) with 2GB RAM it now takes over an hour to determine the updates to install after Windows 7 SP1.
It looks like it is getting slower and slower.
(I use wsusoffline on freshly installed systems but over time, when installing new systems, it takes more and more time to do it)

It's because of the growing catalog wsusscn2.cab. Only MS can change that.

Does not explain why the Windows update agent is completely borked - MSBA lists missing updates within 1-2 minutes after downloading the offline catalog.

A tip that might improve determination of updates, manually DL + install KB3078601 and try again after reboot. Found at
http://www.planet3dnow.de/vbulletin/thr ... iert-nichtAlthough it's too soon to verify this but my reinstalled Vista VM previously hung for hours without visible progress, with this update installed it required "just" 25 minutes to start installing

Moin!
Gerade mal wieder (auf VM) getestet (ohne
kb3078601):
- Code: Select all
11:14:02,79 - Listing ids of missing updates (please be patient, this will take
a while)...
12:03:48,65 - Done.

- Code: Select all
14.09.2015 12:19:18,97 - Info: Started service 'Windows Update' (wuauserv)
14.09.2015 12:31:56,08 - Info: Listed ids of missing updates
