Have been playing with the current 9.8 version. Been installing on W2K8 R2, W2K12 and W2K12 R2 on both GUI and Core versions.
Using GUI, everything works correctly, .Net 4.6 framework and patches install.
Using core, you end up in and installation loop

Have tried using just the vanilla Microsoft media and just the 4.6 framework and the installation still fails.
The .Net 4.6 exe simply crashes when used interactively.

It appears that 4.6 wont install on core versions.
Interestingly, 4.52 installs on core just fine.

Microsoft isn't very forthcoming with specifics on if it is supported, it only mentions the operating system, not whether core specifically is supported.
Google shows no mention of this issue thus far.

Unless Microsoft changes something, you will most likely need to keep core versions on 4.52 with gui versions able to move to 4.6

Is there a way of making this happen without a new build?

Thank you for making such a wonderful product. It saves a heap of time in image creation.

What error message does .NET 4.6 show, when you try to manually install it?

Here are the crash details. Unfortunately not much to go on.

Will post images and the logfile in the next few posts.

I have successfully installed Dot Net 4.52 on this virtual machine - no issue.
Dot Net 4.6 still fails afterwards.

I am opening a case with Microsoft on this, this is really a heads-up for you and for you to think of workaround possibilities.

There is no need for the Log-File. It's a problem with the setup itself, not wsusou. If you create a topic in a MS forum, could you please link it here?

A resolution has finally come back.

For core, you must use "ndp46-kb3045557-x86-x64-allos-enu /q /norestart"
No this isn't documented anywhere publicly.

Anything that starts the installation gui will cause it to crash and for WSUSOffline to enter an infinite loop..

Can a workaround be implemented for this?
