Network Patch / Multi System Updating

Hi all,

I am struggling to find an answer for the above.

I want to install patches for many machines that don't have internet access. I think this would be best if I can do it via a network.

Currently I am downloading lots of updates to USB, but am hoping to copy all this to a network share.

Can it be done so the Client.exe is ran monthly on my systems to check with the package downloader.exe for updates? Or does it allow to run as a "Update Server" almost as I saw the WSUS server IP button?

I do have a dedicated PC that can be used for this.

Can anyone help? Thank you.

I have copied the files to a network share and ran the Updater.exe from there.

It works a treat, currently just need to package up missing patches related to Microsoft Office Viewers, not full suite and windows malicious file remover.

The missing Office Viewers (Word, Excel) might be caused by being based on o2k3, which isn't supported by wsusou anymore.
You could try to enable the general x86 Office download, there might be some patches inside. Also enable Office 2007 to include the Powerpoint Viewer.

I will attempt to rectify this today, thank you for the info - These will have to be manual for now.

- Is it possible to have a scheduled task running weekly on client machines that collect updates from the update generator in a network share or would I have to change the task client side each time I wish to run patches?

It is possible to use a network share and it is possible to create an automated collection-script using the option close to the "Start"-button of UpdateGenerator.
