ok i think i know what the problem is..its because the computers name is cr(A)ss.
i made a new account now with a differrent name and the update installer works...only it stops saying

"medium neither supports your windows nor your office version"

i have a genuine copy of windows.

the problem iam having is that after i wiped my hardrive clean and reinstalled win7 it wont recognise my WLAN anymore (thats what i need for work).
it comes up as unspecified device so i thought windows needs to update, hence the updateinstaller.
sorry for the cross of 2 different things but iam desperate, iam at a mates house and cant use his internet after tonite for a week but i need it up and running for monday :(

Check that your install media is for the correct OS and architecture. However, WSUSOU does not contain any driver updates!

is there a chance to get the driver updates for windows 7 somewhere?

i have the ones for my USB WLAN adapter on the disc that came with it but when i want to install the drivers it asks that the adapter needs to be plugged in. which it is...
please close this topic if its too off topic. and thank you for the help

thank you for the link, i have a gigabyte motherboard of which the download center provided a few updates. got the box from the motherboard out to check the model number but non on the windows site matched the model number. iam downloading all drivers right now anyway. it seems like alot of trial and error but if that does the trick iam eternally happy :)

If it is an exe-file, just run it.
