Please, I would like to create a definite update pack that would be used after clean installation of my Windows XP from 2002. The questions:

1. Can I create a full pack for a non-updated XP from 2002 if I use Update Generator on my current updated XP?
2. If yes, is that simply a matter of choosing [Legacy products]-[wxp] and then clicking Start?
3. If no, can someone please explain to me, how this program works so that I could create the definite pack on my current XP that is "up-to-date"?
4. What to do after the April 8th 2014?

Thank you!

If you include the Service Pack, yes. But please note that WSUSOU does ONLY include security-critical updates. Optional and recommended updates are not aboard.

2. If yes, is that simply a matter of choosing [Legacy products]-[wxp] and then clicking Start?
Check the ''Include Service Packs'' box before.

4. What to do after the April 8th 2014?
Create a last pack for XP and be done with it. After that date XP will be removed from WSUSOU.

Could you still use the older versions of WOU with XP support to get updates that are not included in your WOU client directory, assuming that you have also added the updates to the custom folders that are not included in WOU by default. see viewtopic.php?f=5&t=4079 for a list of updates that are not included by WOU by default.

This does work because I have done it with Office 2k(6.2) & XP(6.9) and Windows 2000 (WOU6.55).
Why do I have these, well its because some people refuse to pay for the newer versions if what they got is still working.

You are still able to user the old version. Just don't update wsusou.

You don't know if Microsoft will keep the XP patches in their catalog file after April 8th, so I suggest to build and keep a "final" ISO image for XP in April using the latest WOU version.

AFAIR they never did a major cleanup just after one OS/Office fell out of support.
