Seit zwei Wochen scheint etwas mit dem Win7 Windows Update Agent nicht zu passen:

Ich lasse auf Frisch installierten Win7 x64 Maschinen WSUS laufen.
Alles läuft wunderbar und ohne Probleme.
Wenn ich zum Schluss Windows Update aktiviere, will er als aller erstes ein Update für Windows Update installieren.

Im Bereich "Update Verlauf" steht dann als erster Eintrag "Windows Update Agent Version 7.6.7600.256" drin, dann läuft er wie gewohnt.

Ist normal, die aktuellste Version des Windows Update Agent ist nicht von offiziellen Quellen herunterladbar. In WOU ist eine ältere Version enthalten die aber bei M$ erhältlich ist.

Im WSUS Ordner liegt die Version 7.4.7600.226 [edit from 7.6.7600.226 by harry]

Von Microsoft könnte man noch die Version 7.6.7600.243 (KB2607070) bekommen:

As I'm a member of MDL I have made that installer already. It is working OK, but has to be installed with the /wuforce option.

Without official links that version is out of the question, but the .243 version is a nice find.
