Error #0 when trying to install updates

I am trying to use WSUS Offline Updater on my home laptop to save time each time I have to format it. I have downloaded and copied the updates to a USB stick (D:) However when I run UpdateInstaller.exe from the USB drive and click start, I get the following error message:

Error #0 when calling C:\windows\system32\cmd.exe /D /C Update.cmd /updatecerts /updatetsc /verify /showlog in D:\.

I am running WSUS Offline Updater 8.6, build 23/09/2013, as an Admin on Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 (64-bit)

Can anyone help?

I find it appears to run the updates as expected if I manually type C:\windows\system32\cmd.exe /D /C Update.cmd /updatecerts /updatetsc /verify /showlog in the Windows run command. It's almost as if when I click the Start button in the app, it's not running the script in an elevated administrator command prompt.

Any way to fix this?
