Updating the files on me USB key

I run offlineupdate on one computer, and have it do all the work and store the files on that computer. I then copy the "Client" directory onto a USB memory stick so I have the files with me to do the updates. Occasionally I re-run the offlineupdate utility to get the latest updates on the main storage computer. Does this mean I need to delete/overwrite every file on the USB memory stick, or can I simply copy and overwrite the "newer" files to keep the memory stick up to date?

In UpdateGenerator is an option to create a portable usb media. If you use this the data will be updates automatically.

But what if I copy the folder over?

Not recommended, since old, deprecated and superseded updates won't be removed that way, leading to a cluttered, bloated repository on the stick. But yes, you need only copy changed files, as these include the new catalog file the updater uses.

Even if I select the "ClenUp" option?

No, with simple manual copying over existing files superseded updates won't be deleted there. If you use the feature in WSUSOU and check ''Cleanup target directory'' then that's another story.

The OP explicitly mentioned manual copying.

Ah! OK, sorry. I didn't pay attention to this situation.

TY for your answer.
