Hi there,
Im new to using WSUS offline updater... i just downloaded the microsoft security essentials and .net framework 4... but when i started to install them and click the M.Security Essentials it says "The installation performs a mandatory Windows Advantage Check (WGA) Do you wish to proceed?"
So If i click ok then its like after rebooting ill be detected by windows???
Is there a way to remove that particular update (KB905474) so Ican still install the microsofrt security essentials???
Please Help....

MSSE will only install if if detects a valid operating system license. If you don't want this check (for whatever reason) use other free antivirus software like Avast free.
AFAIR this only installs the WGA check tool and does not install the WGA notifications.

You've marked the option to download and install MSSE (Microsoft Security Essentials).
If you don't want it -> unmark it and delete the downloaded files.

Please note that the WSUSOU community does not support illegal and unlicensed Windows versions. Some people don't like the WGA check, but then they can't use the optional software like MSSE or XP mode for Windows 7. MS' software, MS' rules.

Thanks a lot guys!!!
So afterall MSSE is just for security purposes and has nothing to do with your PC's responsiveness??
I have kaspersky internet security so I guess ill not be needing it...

MSSE is an antivirus software. Contrary to public belief, it is NOT free. It is software provided by Microsoft as a bonus for licensed Windows users. That means, a licensed Windows is required to use it, thus the WGA check.
