I'm new here, so thank you for your kindness, I'm inexperienced with wsusoffline.

Recently I installed windows 8.1 and I wanted to get the security only updates, not the feature updates etc. So I installed Wsusoffline, checked "security only updates", downloaded them, installed them, everything went out fine.

Only, when I started to check with Windows update minitool, it appears that I'm missing many, many updates from the 2014,2015,2016 years. So, If I understand well, by choosing "security only updates", Wsusoffine downloads only security updates that were issued starting october 2016 (when microsoft started the security/feature model updates) up to today?

I really, really, want security updates ONLY. What shall I do in you opinion? First, download updates from 2013 to 2016 with WUMT, and then complete them with wsusoffiline - security only updates? Shall we do that in that order? Any suggestion?

By the way, I would be very interested if there is a listing of ALL security *ONLY* updates from the beginning of windows 8.1 (any link you know to a webpage, maybe).

I don't know what the Windows Update Mini Tool does. If there are many other updates, then these are probably optional updates.

If you only want security updates, then you don't need any other tools. Blindly installing everything from Windows Update, either directly or with some WUMT, seems to be counterproductive.

The file wsusoffline/client/static/StaticUpdateIds-w63-seconly.txt is a list of security-only updates since their introduction in fall 2016.

thank you. sooo i guess i don't have to worry for the old updates. I'm wondering : after one month for example if I restart wsusoffline, the software will download the latest and new montlhly update, or will it download again ALL updates? How can I update then my computer with that latest monthly update? Sorry I may be stupid Thanks for your kindness.

As long as you don't delete the repository (downloaded updates), only the new ones are downloaded (using the updated catalog). Superseded updates are deleted.
