Been having problems with Windows update since installing Windows 7 to a computer, just stayed on the "checking for updates..." message forever.

So i tried using this wsusoffline software, it downloaded updates thru the command prompt software though not sure if it worked. Can't see the updates in the uninstall programs in windows 7 or in the "view update history" on the windows update side menu. Anyone know where the updates are install to if they are installed?

Having a problem svchost.exe windows as well it's using up close to 2gb memory usage, can end the process but it just restarts itself. Unsure if this is related to Windows Update.

WSUS Offline Update consists of two parts: downloader (.\UpdateGenerator.exe) and installer (.\client\UpdateInstaller.exe). The former can run on any system, the latter is supposed to run on the system which you want to update. If you didn't use the installer part, you haven't installed any updates but just downloaded them.

So, in short: use .\client\UpdateInstaller.exe to install updates on your system (which have been downloaded by UpdateGenerator previouly).
