hi to all, i am a newbie here, can anyone tell me the latest stable version that i can use to get windows 7 and office 2007 updates with. thanks for any help.

Use the very latest version. Windows 7 is on the "Windows" tab (x86 Global = 32bit, x64 Global = 64bit). Office 2007 can be found on the "Legacy products" tab. EOL for Office 2017 is 2017-10-10, and it will stay in WOU until then.
