Windows XP Updates still available in 2015

Not sure if the XP updates are still available from Microsoft in July 2015. I downloaded WSUS Offline Update 9.2.1 (last to support XP) and tried to download updates but received errors. I then downloaded the rootsupd.exe as mentioned in another post - rootsupd.exe verification failed. But things still don't seem to be working as expected.

1. Are updates still available from Microsoft for WSUS Offline Update?
2. Are there special steps to get updates for Windows XP using WSUS Offline Update?
3. Is there somewhere a step-by-step tutorial for WSUS Offline Update for Windows XP since support ended?

Please relace the rootupd.exe-link inside .\static\StaticDownloadLinks-win-x86-glb.txt with this one:

Then add a line

Code: Select all

skipsdd=Enabled

at the end your UpdateGenerator.ini. wsusou should work now; if not, please post the content of .\log\download.log in [code]-tags.

Thanks aker, this is what I have done:

1. Replaced the rootsupd.exe link inside ".\static\StaticDownloadLinks-win-x86-glb.txt" with "http://download.windowsupdate.com/msdownload/update/v3/static/trustedr/en/rootsupd.exe".

2. Added a new line (skipsdd=Enabled) to the end of ".\UpdateGenerator.ini".

3. I also ended up deleting the file ".\client\md\hashes-win-glb.txt", because I kept getting a "file integrity verification failure" error.

I think the download is now working correctly. I have not yet attempted the update on an XP PC. I have attached a screenshot of the download selections for WSUS Offline Update 9.2.1 on a Windows 7 PC.
