[SOLVED] Downloading updates being denied by Microsoft

I have tried multiple times to update the packages but get the following:

any ideas? I'm running the program elevated with admin privileges and internet is connected and working as normal.

Where did you save wsusou? Local HDD, network drive, ...?

Well, let me update this post, I am able to get past this error on a different computer and also using some VM"s (same LAN) - so, am thinking it is a firewall or possible router issue (I'm looking into that side of it), but it doesn't complete the download on any other machine, as it gets stuck at this point:

I'll keep this thread updated to see if original problem is either my own network or if it was a random error.

EDIT: OK, this thread is SOLVED - or at least the original problem is.
It was a bad local machine Outbound firewall rule. Apologies for any lost time you guys had looking into this. cheers.

Hi Carjacker,

you bumped into a common problem that is currently aching us and Torsten (the project founder). It's about the download of the root certificates (see corresponding thread).

You can temporarily circumvent this by deactivating validation during download.

Yep, I read the thread and have taken off validation until issue is solved, which is a good workaround, and I am able to update my wsusoffline packages. I consider this thread solved and ask that it be locked. Thanks for your help and replies.
