What does the WSUS button do?

OK, I know it allows you to enter the address of your WSUS server, but what use is it after that?
What extra functions does it provide, e.g. can I get updates from our WSUS server rather than the internet?

Yes, that's the plan. :) However, not all updates are loaded from WSUS. Some statically defined ones still are downloaded from the MS servers.

Thanks boco.

1. Do I just specify the server URL and port there, e.g. http://wsus.local:8530 ?
2. How can I monitor what your program is downloading from our local WSUS server and what 's coming from Microsoft?
3. Is there any documentation regarding this?

Thanks,
Andy.

You can check .\log\download.log. All static updates (e.g. Service Packs, IE (not the IE updates), ...) are downloaded from MS directly, the dynamic ones (determined from wsusscn2.cab) are downloaded from your WSUS as far as possible, all update missing on your WSUS will be downloaded from MS (except, if you set "/wsusonly").
