On getting updates, I'm getting a lot of these warnings:

The target directory "" does not exist.

They also hold up the program until I clear them.

I'm on version 8.2, on Win7 x32. Nothing is showing up in the log.

In UpdateGenerator please deselect the option "Copy updates for selected products into directory" or enter a target e.g. an USB or network drive.

Sorry, but where is that option? I don't see it in updateinstaller.exe. Thanks.

Also, I see I'm in version 8.5.

For downloading updates you use UpdateGenerator.exe. The option mentioned is at the bottom of the UI. You seem to have enabled it without entering a directory.

Woops, my mistake. To answer your question earlier I mistakenly went to the installer.

Yes, I see the option on updategenerator.exe. I've unticked it and will try it next Tuesday and report back.

@Admin: What do you think of a small sanity check? That option being selected without a valid target directory doesn't make any sense.

But it does check the target path already (see http://trac.wsusoffline.net/changeset/390 or v. 7.5): "- Fix: UpdateGenerator script will now check for existence of USB target directory before attempting to copy to it (Thanks to "kara2004")".
