We have a network that has a WSUS server and clients getting updates from it. The WSUS Server is connected to the internet.

Then some changes in the structure of the company required us to 'disconnect' the entire network from the internet and convert the network into a secured intranet. My problem now is how to update the WSUS Server without internet connection.

I came across WSUS Offline. While running, I saw a part where you can input the WSUS Server URL. Can somebody let me know what this URL is for? And please, if you have experience in using the downloaded WSUS Offline files to be used in the WSUS Server, your help will be greatly appreciated.

The WSUS-URL is for the people, who want wsusou to download updates from their WSUS server instead of MS.

I hope somebody can share their experience regarding having WSUS Server use the WSUS Offline downladed updates.

I am quite sure that someone might have the same kind of set-up as I do.

I do not know if WSUS accepts manually added updates, but would it be possible to set up a sheduled task on the client machines to run DoUpdate.cmd with administrative privileges from a network drive?

Then you don't use WSUS, but all critical updates will be installed. If you want to exclude a specific one or add an optional update, take a look at the directories .\client\exclude\custom and .\client\static\custom.

How to write in the WSUS-url? With or without Port? Tried http://hostname:8530 but WSUS OU does not contact WSUS and downloads all from microsoft... lot of traffic

Could you please post the content of the file .\log\download.log to find the reason of your download problem.
