when wget is downloading an update and the work is continuing, i decide to go home. what i must do in such a case? close the text window (shutdown downloading abnormally)? doesn't it cause any abnormality? may i resume it later? how?

The process isn't supposed to be interrupted, especially if verification is enabled (will cause verification abort errors next run). Best would be to just letting it finish.
