Silly question but 11.9.1 doesn't download all the older windows and office etc... like xp vista.

I thought the esr release would download all the unsupported versions now.

Hello negg,

the ESR refers to the OS and Office versions that are part of WSUS Offline Update version 11.x, not less, but also not more. Use the ESR version if you still want to download the updates for Windows 7 or Server 2008(R2).

Greetings
Gerby

Vista and XP requires ESR 9.2.x.

Please note that creating a new media which successfully patches Windows XP is no longer possible. You need an old media using a historic catalog version. Creating final Vista media should still be possible.

Additionally, while Server 2008 SP2 patches seem to install on Windows Vista with some trickery, major parts of Vista actually won't be patched by them, due to outdated package resources.
