wsusoffline ignoring updates

If MS doesn't update the wsusscn2.cab file, wsusoffline can't do much about it.

On the other hand, the people behind wsusoffline claim that they can't 'scan' for additional updates because MS doesn't provide an overview of them.

If so, how is AutoPatcher able to get ALL the patches available ? :?

Um 16:30 Uhr laufen lassen und noch nichts neues.

Hat Microdoof für diesen Monat soviel Murks in die Updates gesteckt, dass dieser Monat komplett flach fällt?

Someone at Microsoft woke up and updated the wsusscn2.cab file. I kicked off WSUS Offline Update again, and it's now downloading the new patches.

Yes and no. The file is updated, wsusoffline does indeed download about 400MB win 8.1 patches but some critical patches are ignored, and about 900MB of critical Office 2013 updates are ignored as well.. :?

Could you post the last part of .\log\download.lg in [code]-tags here, I'll compare the updates with the ones, I installed on Win8.1 x64 yesterday using Windows Update.

WOU still satisfies MBSA (see viewtopic.php?f=7&t=172), but I agree that Microsoft's catalog based update support for Office 2013 gets worse and worse. I also get offered 40 Office 2013 patches after having updated it using WOU... :(
However, we can't do anything against this except for adding static definitions, which I don't like to maintain.

I agree, maintaining static definitions isn't the way to do it.

Any idea why MS is making it hard for 3th party apps to maintain an offline update library ? I can't see any financial or other reasons why MS should drop or worsen the accuracy of their update catalog ?

Or are they working on their own offline tool ? It wouldn't be the first time MS messes something up to release a similar tool short afterwards.. :?

I guess they want to stay in control of patch distribution, in accordance with their new rapid release cycle. With that accelerated distribution system maintaining a patch catalog could become a major PITA.
Microsoft update catalog: http://catalog.update.microsoft.com/v7/site/
Windows Install media download: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/15088/windows-create-installation-media

They want to stay in control ? So they think everybody has pelnty of time and data-volume to spend on downloading gig's of updates if you install several new systems each day ?

WSO saves me LOTS of download volume AND time.. I don't see any reason for MS to make it hard for anyone to maintain a proper working offline tool.
